Kibwezi East MP Jessica Mbalu now wants her newly elected Kitui East counterpart Nimrod Mbai interrogated over alleged disrespectful remarks he recently made against Kitui governor Charity Ngilu.
Mbalu says that MP Mbai’s ‘rape’ remark against Ngilu is criminal, adding that the Jubilee MP should apologize or be ready to face legal action.
The Kibwezi East lawmaker asked the police to interrogate Mbai over the utterances and ensure Ngilu’s security is beefed up.
“It is shameful for an MP to utter such disrespectful words towards governor Ngilu, he must apologize,” Mbalu said as quoted by the People Daily.
The newly elected Kitui East MP is accused of allegedly calling for the rape of Kitui governor Charity Ngilu.
According to media reports, the Jubilee MP was quoted in a video that has gone viral calling for Ngilu’s rape for supporting Raila Odinga.
Media reports claim that the Jubilee MP allegedly said that Ngilu should be raped in her office if she does not drop her hard stand against President Uhuru Kenyatta.
On Tuesday, the Federation of Women lawyers (FIDA) asked the Jubilee MP to apologize to Ngilu over the utterances.
Governor Ngilu has not yet made an official statement in regards to the utterances made against her by the Jubilee lawmaker.
