Embakasi East aspiring MP Francis Mureithi has asked all aspiring Jubilee Party candidates to give President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto all the attention even if it means they themselves losing their seats.
Speaking in Embakasi East on Saturday, Mureithi said it was important for the Jubilee leaders to campaign for the president and his deputy since the race was hotly contested and that if they relaxed, Cord could win against them.
"All Jubilee members should put the presidential contest first and campaign for President Kenyatta and his Deputy Ruto. All aspirants and those already in office should work towards UhuRuto re-election even if means them losing their individual bids come 2017. This is because the 2017 elections have heated up and it will not be a walk in the park for any party," said Mureithi.
This comes after both Cord and Jubilee parties toured different parts of the country in a bid to garner majority votes to win the forthcoming 2017 elections.
The opposition has been seeking for an alliance from all opposition parties to join hands and match the newly formed Jubilee Party that received many defectors from Cord.
