Love has proven to be a costly affair in campuses. After parents sent their children to campus hoping that they will better their lives through education, that has turned out to be a dangerous land to have a kid.
On March 23, 2016, a first-year male student at Moi University stabbed a colleague to death in a love triangle.
On march 15, another third-year male student at the University of Nairobi had been killed by his girlfriend in another love circus.
That was just days before the wind settled on another incident where on February 26, 2016, a 4th-year female student at Egerton University was stabbed to death by her boyfriend.
Another comrade had been lost on April when a 21-year-old female student at Kabianga University was stabbed to death by her boyfriend after alleged cheating on him.
This has been the cruel reality that is hitting parents of university students.
