A new Ipsos survey released on Tuesday indicate that Deputy President William Ruto will face stiff competition from Baringo Senator Gideon Moi in 2022 Presidential race.
The two are closely followed by Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, Machakos governor Alfred Mutua and NASA leader Raila Odinga.
DP Ruto is expected to get the backing of President Uhuru in his quest for State House.
The main question now remains, how can Gideon Moi align himself in order to deliver the presidency.
For the sake of achieving national diversity, Moi can recruit Machakos governor Alfred Mutua, who is the leader of Maendeleao Chap Chap.
Mutua is seen by many the next kingpin of the Kamba politics after Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka. Chances of Kalonzo clinching the presidency are slowly diminishing, hence leaving Mutua with a clear chance.
By 2022, Mutua's popularity is expected to be on the rise and Moi, should consider bringing him on board.
Mutua has already began popularizing his party in parts of the country. With Kamba nation intact, Gideon can now focus on his Rift valley base.
Currently, Ruto is the kingpin of Kalenjin politics, this however does not mean that he can be dethroned.Gideon Moi can first focus on areas that enjoy KANU support.
In my view, a combination of Gideon Moi and Mutua will deliver State House come 2022.
