According to Akumu about 16 people have been trailing her and that she has the information they have been contracted by her opponents.
Akumu, the leader of Citizen Convention Party, wants to become Kisumu woman representative, a position held by Rose Nyamunga.
"I have given police all the information I have and the number plate of the car that has been trailing me from July 17."
She reported the case at the Kisumu central police station under OB 23/25/7/17.
She was reportedly alerted about the arrival on July 17 of two foreigners and 14 people who were to embark on the mission.
"I wonder why women have to be their own enemies. I won't mention their names but police will investigate further using the information I have given," she said.
“I assure voters and my supporters that I will clinch the seat in August despite the assassination plot."
Akumu said police beefed up her security after she reported the case.
