Speaking on Thursday, he advised the students to concentrate on their revision and stop bothering with the teachers strike as their problem was being addressed by other institutions.

“As a ministry, we are committed to ensuring that students find a conducive environment where they are in position to sit their exams,” he said.

The same sentiments were echoed by the principal of Kiambu township secondary school, Phoebe Kamau, who assured candidates that they have got nothing to worry about as the exams will go on as scheduled.

She confirmed that her school had already carried out rehearsals and was only awaiting the final exams. She also pointed out that those teachers who administer exams had a contract with the government hence there is no cause for alarm.

Kamau stated that as the administration, they are mandated by the law to ensure students set their minds for the exams as it will determine their fate in life.

Kamau urged candidates not to give into distraction like strike that will result into poor performance.

Reginah Wanjiku, a form four student at the same school said that the strike should not take place as it will paralyze their exams which she said might affect their performance.

Johnstone Mwaura from the same school also said that they were all prepared for the exams and are just waiting for Friday and nothing will disrupt their mood for exams.

“It is the long awaited exams which will determine what one takes up in future, and every stakeholder should come on board to support the candidates,” he said.
