Candidates preparing for National examinations in Kisumu County have been warned against engaging in any form of cheating during the exams.

Kisumu East District Educational Officer Jane Mutange, said cheating will not be tolerated at any cost during The Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) set to officially start on the October 17, and the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) set for early next month. 

Speaking at Kisumu Girls High School Friday, Mtange said, “Candidates should avoid cheating so that we come clean of any irregularities in this year’s exams in Kisumu East District, and Kisumu County as a whole.”

She urged candidates to be confident, so as to register good results in the exams.

The meeting at Kisumu Girls High School, brought together various education stake holders for planning purposes, ahead of the KCSE exams set to officially kick off next week.

According to Kisumu Girls High School Principal Mary Akunja, 265 candidates will be sitting for KCSE exams in the school this year.

She said her girls have been preparing quite well, and are rearing to for the exams, making a promise that they register good grades.
