Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu now wants Form One selection for the candidates with over 400 Marks in Kiambu County to get slots in the national schools within the county.

The governor says this is better than having children sent to schools which are far away. When he was releasing the results the cabinet secretary for education Fred Matiang'i said the selection will be ready on 12 December to allow parents to prepare early enough.Speaking in Kiambu, Waititu said he will follow up to see that the selection will be fairly conducted to favour those from Kiambu."I will personally make sure that before students don't move across Kiambu and are admitted far from their homes forcing parents having a hard time and challenges to visit their children," he said.He added that all national schools in Kiambu should set aside one classroom for locals saying the schools were built by parents through harambees and therefore they should be given first priority to admitting their students. Waititu said that the executive will work with the county assembly where he will propose a Bill to have local universities employ 70% of locals.
