Coast-based hip-hop artist Cannibal has said that he lost Mtopanga Ward seat because of witchcraft. In an interview with a local daily, Cannibal, whose real name is Ralph Sandal Masai, said that he would have won the seat had he been saved at the time of the election.
The talented artist claimed that there was no way he could lose considering his popularity at the grass roots.
"Yes, definitely. Noting how popular I was at the grass root level, my opponents used it against me and it kind of worked to their advantage. I wish I had gotten saved by then, they wouldn’t have stood a chance” he said as quoted by Nation.
The celebrated singer however said that he will still contest for the same post in 2022, adding that he is confident of emerging the winner now that he is a Christian. The singer further said that he will be in a better position to deal with the challenges that come with political ambitions when that time comes.
Cannibal is among the few celebrities who joined the political arena but he lost. Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali and Kigeugeu hitmaker Charles Njagua aka Jaguar are among the celebrities who win parliamentary posts in the August polls.
