Raila has contested thrice for the top seat and the 2017 election is perceived to be his last attempt in an otherwise remarkable political career.

And the former member of the 'Seven Bearded Sisters' on Sunday during and exclusive interview with this writer, projected Raila’s victory alluding it to the Jubilee government’s inability to control the economy.

“The biggest shortcoming of the Jubilee government is inability to safeguard our economy. When the economy hits its low, not even your tribe can favour you because this is a matter of national interest. We have heard mega scams in government such as the NYS, and this is likely to contribute to the 2017 polls,” he said.

“People may not vote for tribe. President Uhuru Kenyatta has been unable to tame corruption or even fulfill a number of projects such as infrastructure which are critical when people make choices. This gives Raila an upper hand to outsmart him in the polls,” he added.

“The laptops project took long before it was implemented. The five stadia are yet to be constructed among the many more Jubilee election pledges, and above all, the inability to create jobs for the youths. This will bring a revolution that will take Raila to State House,” stated the former lawmaker.

He, however, cautioned Raila against relaxing in ironing out the outstanding issues about the IEBC and the loopholes that were noticed in 2013.

“But the most sensible thing is to ensure critical reforms in the IEBC. I know he is quite popular and that can only translate into results by ensuring all outstanding issues in 2013 polls are settled to seal any rigging loopholes,” he said.
