Slain Fly Sax plane pilot Capt. Barbara Wangeci Kamau was planning her wedding before the fatal plane crash took away her life.
During her ceremony at the St. Paul's University chapel on Thursday, her fiancee Austin Munyalo Mbalo paid her an attribute strong enough to feel everybody in attendance with a sigh.
"Goodbye my beautiful purple flower. I know you had to heed the father’s call. And even though I only had you for the shortest hour,I thank the Lord for the most beautiful queen of all," he said.
She was among the 10 people who perished when the plane which was from Kitale heading to Nairobi on June 5th went missing after an hour.
Search and rescue operations were deployed in the Aberdares but due to bad weather, the operations were suspended. But 2 days later, it was found out that it had hit a hill on the Aberdares and crashed.
Capt. Barbara was laid to rest in Karura Kanyungu in Kiambu county on Thursday. Family and friends were urged to be patient as investigations on the cause of the crash are underway.
