There was commotion at St Mary’s Mission Hospital in Gilgil in on Saturday evening when four men were cornered by irate staff members.
The four were roughed up by the staff before a car they had used to access the facility was set ablaze.
The hospital Medical Director Dr Peter Lemayan said the four raised suscipion among the staff after their reasons for visiting the facility failed to add up.
He said they claimed they had come to visit a patient.
They could however not say which patient they were visiting and angry staff members suspected they were spies as the hospital is under ownership controversy.
The four were however rescued by police and taken to Gilgil police station.
