Ex-KTN editor Aaron Ochieng. He was arrested on December 30, 2016 in Kisumu with his workmate's stolen car. [kampalasun.co.ug]A case pitting former KTN editor Aaron Ochieng and business news anchor Joy Doreen Biira will proceed to full trial after the duo failed to agree to an out-of-court settlement over car theft.A Kibera court where the case was filed, heard on Tuesday that the two could not agree on terms of settlement after talks hit a dead edge.Biira, who accuses Ochieng of stealing her car at Standard Media Group main offices along Mombasa road, told the prosecution that the talks were futile and asked the court to fix a new hearing date so the case can proceed to full trial. In a letter before the court, Ochieng sought an out-of-court settlement, claiming he acted alone in the theft of the car while apologizing to Biira for alleging that he conspired with her to have the car stolen. The Sh2.8 million Mercedes-Benz was allegedly found in Kisumu with its plates changed from KBY 831K to KCH 117L.The case is now set for hearing on December 1 when Biira will take the witness stand to testify.
