Cardinal Njue also handed over a Sh 250, 000 cheque to the group Caritas Nairobi/Thigio rabbit farmers of money they have earned from the sale of rabbits.

Rabbit Republic Limited CEO Moses Wambua said the group had sold to them rabbits worth Sh 250,000 over the last two months and they were happy to hand them the cheque.

“Rabbit farming is considered a boy project but if people invest in it seriously, it has massive commercial benefits,” said Wambua.

Wambua added that they buy the rabbits from the farmers immediately they stop suckling for Sh 500 each.

Rabbit Republic Limited was also collaborating with other farmers affiliated to Catholic churches in Munyu, Thika and Matumburu areas, and in Kenya were sourcing for rabbits from 4,000 farmers.

Cardinal Njue urged the young people to work hard and use their time wisely so that they can change their status in life.

“Do not look down on yourself. If you work hard, you will change your status in life but do not engage in crime to make money,” said Cardinal Njue.

There was cake cutting in celebration of the launch and also food was served.
