The head of Catholic Church in Kenya Cardinal John Njue has urged couples to treasure each other in order to create a solid environment for family growth.
Njue speaking on Sunday at St Peter The Rock Catholic Church in Thika to mark St Patrick’s Day Feast, said that by doing so they will be fulfilling God's will.
"God wants you to strengthen your families through prayers and reading the Bible. I urge everyone to adopt good family ethics not forgetting the Lord and African culture," said Njue.
He added: "Our lives should get shield against earthly evils through accepting God. Our families act as the core of the church and society. Therefore, we will live in peace and harmony if sympathy and accord prevail in the families.”
He urged couples never to be worried as God has their backing if they remain faithful to each other.
Many Catholic faithfuls braved the cold weather from to listen to the word as Thika streets were packed with believers walking to witness the launch of the St Patrick’s Statue.
Cardinal John Njue also confirmed around 100 catechumens from different prayer houses under St Patrick Parish.
