Students of Cardinal Otunga Mosocho high school in Kisii County have resumed studies after the school was closed two weeks ago following a fire outbreak that gutted three dormitories.
The school principal Zachary Nyariki has confirmed that students returned to school as from Sunday and resumed their studies on Monday.
“Students have resumed to their studies after returning to school as from Sunday. They stayed home for two weeks after a fire razed up three of their dormitories that made us to close the school to establish the cause of the fire tragedy before students resumed their studies,” said principal Nyariki.
Ten students from Borabu sub-county were given material support by their Member of Parliament Ben Momanyi, who encouraged them to work hard in school.
Momanyi bought beddings and other properties they lost in the tragedy and promised to support them all through in their academic endeavors.
“I have supported 10 students from my constituency who lost their properties in the fire incident at Cardinal Otunga High school so that they can recommence their studies as they go back to school. I encourage them to work hard and I will be supporting them whenever required to see then achieving their dream,” pledged the MP.
