A Thika court has today, Wednesday, handed a middle aged man, who is said to be a carpenter, a bond of Sh300,000, after he was allegedly accused of assault.
Dominic wainaina, who hails and works in Juja Sub County is said to have fought with Patrick Wambua, who is the complainant in this case.
According to Wainaina, who pleaded innocent before the chief magistrate Stephen Mbugi, the complainant was in a gang of men that had come to steal from his workshop and the fight was a form of defence.
The court prosecutor, Nancy Muthuri revealed to the packed court that Wambua suffered serious face injuries and that he used Sh15,000 in search of medical attention.
Wainaina told the court that the gangsters had weapons like a machete and a pistol, which they used to scare him but his bravery nature prompted him to fight back.
The court magistrate advised Wainaina that he ought to have reported the crime to the police, but instead silenced even after fighting with the alleged criminals.
Witnesses are expected to appear in court for testimonies in July 19, 2015, when the case is set to be mentioned for hearing.
