Nakuru residents have urged the government to carry out trauma counselling services to all university students.
Speakig to journalists at a forum in Nyayo gardens on Sunday residents said that majority of students in campus fear being in their institutions due to the attacks.
John Maina, a youth leader and peer counsellor, expressed concern over the number of students who wanted to drop out of universities.
Maina said that most of students are still traumatised hence need for counselling.
“We have been talking to students in the campuses and a good number of them fear residing in institution’s hostels or going to classes fearing for their lives,” said Maina.
Maina singled out Nairobi University student incident early Sunday where students jumped out of the building in fear that they were under attack.
“We need people to talk to them and assure them that they are safe,” says Maina.
