Garissa Governor hopeful Ali Bunow Korane has asked incumbent Nathif Jama to carry his own cross and stop blame games in relation to fresh corruption allegations facing him.

Speaking to journalists at Garissa town on Wednesday, Korane asked Jama to come clean on the Sh5.3 Billion corruption allegations levelled against him.

Korane also asked Jama to stop dragging the media into his woes.

‘‘Governor Jama should keep the media out of his problems and face the corruption accusations levelled against him as an individual,’’ he said as quoted by the People Daily.

Korane also asked the Wiper governor to allow investigative agencies probing him over the theft of Sh5.3 Billion to do their work.

Korane said that corruption and looting of public resources is a serious matter that should not be taken lightly.

The Jubilee governor hopeful also laughed off Jama’s claims that the corruption allegations facing him are politically motivated.

He said that the governor has to account to every cent he has been receiving from the national government.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption (EACC) is probing governor Jama over Sh5.3 Billion he is said to have allegedly diverted from the county coffers to his personal account.

The Garissa governor has however denied diverting the money as being claimed, saying that he is being targeted politically.

Governor Jama has since threatened to sue the EACC for maligning his name.

On Wednesday, hundreds of Jama’s supporter’s poured into Garissa streets accusing the EACC of allegedly intimidating their governor.

Jama is seeking re-election but faces stiff competition from Korane who is vying on Jubilee party ticket.
