Speaking in Tetu constituency, Ruto said the government was alert on dealing with any corrupt officials, including Waiguru and her NYS scandal as one of the sagas the government has had to crack the whip.

“Mahali ambapo kulitokea wizi, kama ile ilitokea NYS ikiongozwa na yule Madam Waiguru, sisi tumesema kulitokea wizi (Wherever theft has occurred, such as the case at the National Youth Service that was led by Waiguru, we came our and acknowledged there was theft)" he said.

He said that the government will hold accountable everyone that has ever been involved in stealing of public funds.

Earlier, Waiguru had implicated Ruto's aide Farouk Kibet as among the key figures in the NYS theft and revealed that Kibet had made 150 calls with another suspect Ben Gethi during the time of the scandal.
