City Hall has been forced to halt plans to hire inspectorate officers, after alleged ‘cartels’ infiltrated the process.
The exercise has been postponed for the third time now without clear reasons, with top management saying some individuals had blocked the exercise.
Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero noted on Sunday that they were forced to halt the process after the said brokers tried to fix in names of their family members.
"We had to cancel the entire exercise because there are some brokers who are trying to discriminate the applicants and instead hire their family members," said kidero.
Thousands of job seekers turned rowdy last week on Monday, after a recruitment exercise at the City Inspectorate Training School in Dagoretti was postponed without prior notice.
It is alleged the applicants were not given clear communication on the exercise, which resulted in their reactions.
The angry job-seekers pelted stones at motorists, barricading and lighting fires on the busy Ngong road.
