Nominated MP David ole Sankok has accused some cartels in the Ministry of Labour for sabotaging and derailing efforts to have cash transfer program payment be prompt and alleviate the suffering of the aged, people with disability and orphans.
Speaking in Nakuru when he donated a wheelchair and food stuffs to Irene Monare, a disabled mother whose plight was highlighted in media, Sankok said the impact of over Sh30 billion has not been felt well and called for revision of payment mode to effectively minimize the challenges experienced by the beneficiaries.
Sankok pledged to end the plight of Kevin Momanyi, a 10-year-old boy from Nakuru slum who has been wheeling his mother to her shop daily.
He said he will do this by securing the mum a job at the National Council of Persons with Disabilities.
"We want the the boy to now focus on his studies as the mother is given a therapy tricycles for disabled which she can be using to go to work daily," he said.
