A court on Wednesday said that the case against five suspects who are facing terror-related charges over the Garissa University College attack will resume on January 21.

During the mentioning of the case, Milimani senior principal magistrate Martha Mutuku said the hearing date remains unchanged before trial magistrate Francis Andayi.

The five are being accused of allegedly aiding Al-Shabaab militants in their attack at the institution on April 2, 2015, that left 142 students dead and several others injured.

The suspects are Osman Abdi, Rashid Charles, Mohamed Abdi, Hassan Aden and Sahal Diriye who were being charged with committing the offense together with others, not before the court.

During the case hearing Abikar, Hassan and Hussein were being accused of assisting in delivering the weapons to the attackers and they were arrested on the day of the attack after they had boarded a bus from Garissa heading to Somalia.

Mberesero, a Tanzanian was arrested on the material date in the university hiding under a bed in a dormitory and could not explain what he was doing at the university during the attack.

Surow works at a hotel in Garissa town and there is evidence that Al-Shabaab attackers knew him as they had several meals together.
