A case against three youths arrested for disrupting ODM’s senatorial nomination in Homa Bay County will be heard on February 9, 2015.
The three were arraigned on Tuesday before the Homa Bay High Court.
Collins Midumbi George, Shem Adede Odoyo and George Otieno Omollo appeared before Homa Bay Principal Magitrate Paul Mayoma where they faced three counts of incitement, destruction of property and creating disturbance which is a breach of peace.
The three were charged that on December 15, 2014 at Homa Bay County Assembly Grounds with others not before the court uttered words which triggered youths to violence hence aborting the planned party nominations.
It was also heard that the three kicked and destroyed two ballot boxes and damaged chairs valued at Sh 6,600 property of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
They denied the charges and were released on a cash bail of Sh 25,000 each.
The mention will be on 30th January 2015.
The three are represented by a Homa Bay based lawyer Samuel Nyauke.
