The children's department in Uasin Gishu County has raised an alarm over an increase of missing children.
Turbo sub-county children's department officer Caroline Koskey says most of the cases are being reported in major urban centers across the county.
Speaking at Moisbridge trading center where a neglected 8-year old deaf girl was rescued on Tuesday, Koskei warned parents against neglecting their children, especially those with special needs.
"The girl cannot explain herself. She cannot even write meaning she was never went to school. We have taken her to our Children's rescue center in Eldoret town," Koskei said.
"It's something of concern to us that we are receiving very many cases of children who are found without their parents especially in our urban centers," she added.
She however asked parents who have lost their children to visit Children's department offices across the county so that they can be helped to find them.
