According to the secretary Kenya Building Construction Timber and furniture Employees Union under Baringo, Bomet, Nakuru and Trans Nzoia counties  Rev.Maurice Shisoka Shiundu, the situation should be addressed quickly.

He says majority of common workers or casuals have been laid off after businesses went down.

“Economy is not doing well and the common worker is suffering with investors now in fear of their businesses. Some casual workers have also been laid off and that is very bad for our economy,” he said.

Shiundu asked the young people to shun politicians out to use them.

He also asked leaders not to incite communities against each other.

“Forcing other communities out of Nakuru is a primitive act and we condemn anyone who thinks of such. What we want is peaceful coexistence among the communities living in Nakuru. We don’t want to fight but live together as enshrined in the constitution where everyone can live anywhere in Kenya,” he said.
