Nakuru county government has been put on notice over the delay in paying casual workers.
The workers claim they haven't received any salary for the past six months.
Through his Facebook page, Martin Lunalo, a casual worker in the Ministry of Environment said, "The county has failed to pay its casual workers in the environment sector for the last six months."
He claimed that when they tried to question over the matter; an officer from the county told them to pray hard for them to receive their salaries.
The workers have now appealed to Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to ensure they get all their dues.
They say the delay in their salaries has caused more problems in their families.
The sentiments were echoed by Nakuru Human Rights Network Director David Kuria who said the move is undermining the basic human rights of the workers.
"The workers have a right to sue even the county government for neglecting their rights," said Kuria.
However, when contacted on the phone, Nakuru CeC for Environment Richard Rop said the issue is being sorted out and that the casual workers will be paid their dues.
