The cat and mouse chase between police and NASA supporters is set to continue today, with the supporters expected at the JKIA to welcome Raila Odinga.

On Thursday, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, his Rauaraka counterpart TJ Kajwang and Starehe politician Steve Mbogo were arrested, after engaging the police in a similar chase.

The three were arrested on their way to Kibra grounds, where they addressed supporters despite the police warning them.

The leaders abandoned their vehicles after police officers barricaded roads leading to the grounds, opting to use motorcycles instead.

They were later released but now face traffic offenses riding on motorcycles without helmets.

Raila is expected today, Friday, after a week’s tour in the USA.

Leaders led by Senator James Orengo, Johnstone Muthama and Gladys Wanga have been calling on the coalition’s supporters to turn out in large numbers to welcome their leader.

His return comes at a time when the Supreme Court is perusing through presentations made before the court, regarding the election petition that seeks to nullify President Kenyatta’s win.

The coalition has been pushing for electoral and constitutional change, issues that led to the withdrawal of Raila Odinga from the presidential race in October.
