With the government through Nairobi police boss, Japheth Koome insisting NASA’s planned meeting on Tuesday is illegal; the coalition has warned the government against hurting their supporters.

According to leaders from the opposition coalition, the government will be solely responsible for any harm to any of their supporters.

Through a letter to Embakasi OCS by E. Sifuna and Associates on behalf of NASA, the coalition insist the meeting will be to pray with those who lost their loved ones a week ago.

“Our clients shall hold a memorial on November 28 for the innocent Kenyans who met their untimely deaths at the hands of the police and regime-sponsored killer gangs in the past few weeks,” says the letter signed by Nasa lawyer Edwin Sifuna as quoted by the Nation.

NASA held a meeting in Manzoni, Machakos on Saturday, where they resolved that they will assemble at the Jacaranda Grounds on Tuesday, skipping the swearing-in of President Kenyatta.

However, Nairobi police boss has warned them against the meeting, saying are not aware of any planned meeting.

“The only meeting that I know will be held on Tuesday is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s swearing-in at the Kasarani sports complex.”

With both parties holding their grounds, it promises to be another day of cat and mouse between the offices and the NASA supporters.
