Speaking to HiviSasa.com on Thursday, the spokesperson of the parish, Kelvin Momanyi, said the parish had summoned those accused and their fate will be known after thorough investigations are done.

He said the move was necessitated following a petition from a section of the church’s faithful who accused leaders in charge of the construction of corruption, which has allegedly led to stalling of the mega project that is partly funded by the Diocese of Kisii.

“I would like to bring to the attention of Nyamotenenio faithful that we have summoned the five leaders who were in charge of construction. This is in response to a petition by some followers who raised concern about their conduct,” Momanyi said.

“They will account for every single cent that was donated by either the parish or the diocese. We expected that part of Sh800,000 that was donated would have boosted the construction by now,” he said.

One of the church elders who is part of the group that is facing the serious allegations confirmed the sermons and pledged to obey them for the purpose of transparency.

“I don’t know of the other four but personally I have received the sermons. I a faithful, I am ready to exonerate myself from such serious allegations,” said Peter Nyabwari.
