The faithful from three Catholic parishes within the town, held a procession for the Way of the Cross across the streets of Nakuru.

The procession is a symbol of remembrance on how Jesus’s journey to crucifixion took place.

Led by Rev Maurice Muhatia, Bishop of Nakuru diocese, the congregation ended their four-hour Way of the Cross journey at Christ the King Cathedral Church with a Good Friday mass.

Rev Muhatia who delivered a brief sermon requested the church members to remain prayerful and meditate deeply about Jesus Christ Crucifixion.

‘’The Way of the Cross should not be taken like an ordinary event, as Christians we must take time to meditate and pray. Our society has so many issues, but it’s only by turning back to our Lord Jesus Christ that we will be saved,’’ said Muhatia.

One of the Faithful, Emma Mwangi who participated in the procession for the first time agreed that the journey which had prayers at many different stopovers gave her time to reflect on Jesus Christ.

‘’ I just got a job transfer to Nakuru recently, this was my first way of the cross here in Nakuru it so different from others I had participated in. Every Catholic faithful should mark the way of the cross every Good Friday, it teaches us a lot about our Christ,’’ concluded Emma.
