The cause of Tom Cholmondeley’s death at MP shah hospital in Nairobi is still unknown, the deceased's family has confirmed.
Through a press statement sent to newsrooms by the family’s spokeperson, Sally Dudmesh the postmortem has not indicated what led to his death despite speculations that the controversial farmer died from a heart attack.
“It is not appropriate for anyone to speculate on the cause of death before those tests have been completed and the results are known, which may take several weeks. All of the parties involved have the full confidence of Tom’s family, who sincerely appreciate everyone’s hard work at this difficult time,” read the statement.
Cholmondeley’s postmortem was carried out on August 18, 2016, under the guidance of Government Pathologist and an independent pathologist nominated by the deceased's family.
According to the statement, further tests are being carried out to determine the actual cause of death.
Thomas Cholmondeley was the great-grandson of the Lord Delamere, one of the first and most influential British settlers in Kenya. Tom died on Wednesday at MP Shah hospital while recovering from a knee surgery.
