The Central Bank of Kenya on Tuesday April 19, launched a six-month Internship Program dubbed (CBKIP) that seeks to develop youth between 21 to 29 years.

The training aims at equipping students with skills and operations of the banking industry.

According to information published on its official website, CBK also targets at developing young talent to take up employment opportunities in the Kenya Banking and Financial sector.

The internship program will also provide an opportunity to gain on-the-job experience, expand knowledge, refine career goals and build professional networks.

However, for one to qualify for training, an individual should have a first degree from a recognized university in the disciplines of Finance, Economics, Accounting, Micro Finance, Management Sciences, Law or ant other related discipline or a Master’s degree in a relevant field, and should provide recommendation or reference letter from the university attended.

Applications can be made before May 15, 2016 on the internship portal available at the regulator's website.
