The Central Bank of Kenya on Tuesday announced the launch of its six-month internship programme hailed as (CBKIP) that seeks to develop a pool of youth talent aged between 21- 29 years to be exposed to central banking and commercial banking operations.

According to CBK official website, the programme seeks to develop young talents to take up immense employment opportunities in the Kenyan banking and financial sector after which candidates will be ready to be absorbed in the job market.

The internship programme will also provide an opportunity to gain on-the-job experience, expand knowledge, refine career goals and build professional network, mentors and contacts.

However, among other major requirements is a first degree from a recognised university in the disciplines of finance, economics, accounting, micro finance, management sciences, law or related discipline or a master’s degree in a relevant field, and should provide recommendation or reference letter from the university attended.

Applications should be made before May 15, on the internship portal available the regulator's website.
