The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) governor Dr Patrick Njoroge has refused to bow to opposition leader Raila Odinga's request for a meeting to discuss the Eurobond saga.
Raila had wanted to discuss the issue which has been hitting the headlines for a while now with the CBK boss on the alleged loss of the monies.
The meeting was to be held on April 21.
In his defense, the governor said the information need by the Cord leader was privileged and could not be shared to other parties.
Raila wrote to the CBK boss on March 29 requesting for a face- face meeting which was to be done in a formal manner.
According to the Njoroge, the Cord leader asked him together with few relevant staff at the CBK to have a formal face- face communication concerning the recipient and accountability of the money so that the coalition could get some information if necessary.
Raila Odinga has been a front whistle-blower asking for the arrest of the people who allegedly misused the Eurobond cash.
Raila said some of the key individuals mentioned in the saga are senior government officials.
In January, Raila named Treasury CS Henry Rotich, Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua and other civil servants as the persons of interest in the Eurobond cash loss.
