Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto’s Chama Cha Mashinani has denied claims that Jubilee helped him win the seat in 2013.
South Rift CCM leaders said the claims made by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto during their tour of Nakuru are meant to malign the governor.
“The President has resorted to using lies when he knows that Rutto was the person who helped Jubilee in Bomet and in the South Rift at large from an onslaught from Cord,” said Kevin Kones, Bomet East CCM parliamentary candidate.
Governor Rutto’s alies said it was the CCM party leader who played a key role in popularising URP across the South Rift region terming the sentiments by UhuRuto as signs of panic.
On Saturday, President Kenyatta said Rutto is being ungrateful by going all out attacking them, despite helping him win the Bomet gubernatorial race.
