Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) will not field a presidential candidate in the 2017 general elections, party leader Isaac Rutto has said.
The Bomet governor said CCM will support a presidential candidate who will seek their support.
“CCM will not go blindly and support any presidential candidates who will not have approached us for support,” he said.
Ruto said CCM will field candidates across all other elective positions countrywide.
CCM is reportedly engaged in negotiations with Cord affiliate parties — ODM, Wiper Party and Ford Kenya, Amani National Congress (ANC)and Kanu to form the National Super Alliance (NASA) to battle it out with Jubilee Party in next year’s polls.
