CDF chief executive officer, Yusuf Nzibo, urged Kenyans not to be worried about the court ruling over fund.

Speaking at Pala primary school in Nyando constituency when he opened nine classrooms built by CDF, Nzibo said they are in consultation with MPs to rectify the Act before the elapse of the 12 months given by the court.

Nzibo said the court gave a window period of 12 months for the government to ensure that the CDF Act is in tandem with the new law.

He said CDF board is already meeting legislators and other stakeholders to ensure the Act is aligned to the new constitution.

He said CDF has done a lot in terms of development across the country and abolishing it will harm development at the grassroot level.

“Kenyans are happy with CDF and as a board we will hasten the process to ensure that the Act is in line with the new law,” said Nzibo.

Nzibo says CDF is a national government project and not in any way will conflict with county government projects.

Speaking at the same time Nyando MP Fred Outa said he will continue dishing out CDF money to help in improving educational infrastructures across the country amongst other projects.

Outa said he will consult residents on where they want him to chanell the fund.
