Nyando MP Hon Fred Outa has said he will be channelling CDF directly to contractors to carry out developments in the constituency. Outa said some schools that have been given CDF to construct classrooms have mismanaged those funds. He said several school projects are abandoned while those completed have been done haphazardly. “In some schools, management has squandered CDF money and this has prompted me to give the money directly to the contractors,” he said. Speaking at Odienya secondary school where he opened the school’s administration block built at a cost of Sh3.2 million by CDF money, Outa lauded the school principal for using the funds well to construct a the block. The MP also called upon the locals to be watchdogs on how their money is being spent across the constituency to uplift development in the area. “The public should not sit back and watch as CDF money is mismanaged at the development level. They should instead come out and question its expenditure,” he said. Outa said CDF is public money and locals must be in the forefront to ensure such funds are well spent.
