Speaking in his office on Tuesday, Birir said that despite the county government constructing the foot path with a whooping Sh100 million for Uasin Gishu residents, there are some people using it as ‘their offices’ to showcase their products.

“I have done thorough investigations on the same and found out that there are some timber yards at Action Estate who parade their products at the footpath, making it inaccessible for pedestrias,” he said.

“We have carpenters displaying their products on the foot path, I urge them to move from the foot path with immediate effect before we come for them,” he said.

He reiterated that the Uasin Gishu County government has deployed officers who will watch over the foot path, and anyone found violating the rules will be arrested and prosecuted.
