Kiambu County Youth and Sports Affairs CeC Michael Waikenda has lamented over high number of stripping clubs and pornographic materials in Thika town that attracts many youths in the society.
Waikenda expressed his concerns vowing to partner with Thika Deputy County Commissioner Jeremiah Gicheru to put an end to the clubs that spearhead the immoral act.
“I will partner with Gicheru, the DCC to eliminate the bad behaviour of clubs and dealers in pornographic materials in our streets to help save the decency of our youths,” warned Waikenda.
He said that many youths find pleasure in such clubs not knowing it affects them mentally thus resulting in heinous act like rape and crimes which is a ‘cancer’ to the county.
CeC Waikenda added that once the brain of a youth is corrupted with pornography and nude pictures it affects them up to marriage time.
He warned that watching pornographic movies is addictive and if not controlled by an individual it will haunt them for a life time. Waikenda therefore, advocated for the youth to keep away from it.
The CeC who was speaking on Saturday in Thika town said that the number of crimes in Thika that involves youth are becoming rampant thus urged the youths to shun such misconduct and instead indulge in activities that will add value to their lives.
He said that the county government has disbursed enough funds for youths in the county and urged them not to miss the rare gifts that comes once in lifetime.
