Speaking after touring several roads under repair in Nakuru town yesterday, county roads CeC Joel Maina warned that shoddy work will not be paid for.

The minister said that the county is using a lot of money to repair roads and other infrastructures across Nakuru.

“We want to ask contractors to ensure that the deliver as per the agreement and signed contracts,” he said.

Maina observed that county officials will continue to inspect construction works and contractors who fail to perform would not be paid.

The minister said that the county government is committed to make sure that road networks are in good state.

He said that every sub county has been allocated adequate funds to oversee repair and construction of roads.

He asked sub county administrators to ensure that the funds allocated to road infrastructure are used for the intended purpose.

Maina also urged ward representatives to work with his office in order to spur infrastructure development.
