Kenya's Harambee Stars are all set for the Cecafa opening match against Rwanda's Amavubi at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
The Group A match will be played today Sunday starting 2pm.
With a new coach at the touchline for Kenya, the stakes are high for the boys to win to give hope to their fans.
Stars coach Paul Put says he is trying hard to relieve pressure off the hosts.
“Of course Rwanda is a strong team with quality players. They have qualified for Chan, so I expect them to come with their best local-based players. But I believe we are well prepared and the matches will give us an opportunity to test the level of our players,” said Put.
“We are trying to get a balanced team on the pitch and see how far we can go. Although my focus is on 2018 AFCON, we will try to give our best and make Kenyans happy.”
After the opener, there will be another match between Kilimanjaro Stars of Tanzania and guest team Libya to kick off at 4pm from the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
