Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (Cecafa) have changed kick-off date for the Senior Challenge Cup.

The bonanza set for Kenya was initially scheduled to kick-off from November 17-30, but will now shift to the final week of November starting from November 25 to December 9.

While it is not very clear why the change in date, the heightened political situation in the country as well as the ongoing Kenya Premier League season could have played a critical role in the changes.

The regional tournament is scheduled to be staged in Kisumu, Nakuru, and Bungoma Counties according to Football Kenya Federation.

Among the invited clubs are Zambia and Zimbabwe who will join host Kenya as well as other East and Central Africa countries including Uganda, Tanzania, Somalia, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Sudan.

The last time the soccer tourney was held in the country in 2013, Harambee Stars emerged victorious after dispatching Sudan 2-0 at the Machakos Stadium.
