Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has challenged Kisii County governor to ensure that his ministers are performing for the good of the county.
According to Onyonka, if the ministers fail in their mandate it means the county government has also fail.
Speaking on Thursday at the county headquarters during the signing of performance contracts of 10 county ministers, Onyonka said the ministers needs to go to the field and perform their duties rather than being in officers.
“Mr governor, let your ministers go to the ground, not being in the officers all the time, by going to the field they will be able to know what residents need and deliver the services," he said.
He challenged leaders to avoid frustrating residents by misusing funds meant for development projects.
“Let us stop frustrating and annoying people by misusing funds, let us perform our duties so that we can develop this county and country,” he said.
He added that if county ministers fail to perform, blame will be on to the governor, hence there is need for the governor to sack non-performing executive officers.
“Don’t let these people frustrate you, you have the power to sack those who are not performing,” he added.
