Joe Ageyo has brought to an end debate surrounding his future at Standard Group as he announced his decision to leave his Managing Editor position at Kenya's oldest private TV station, KTN.
The veteran Journalist who rejoined the media house in 2012 from NTV is credited for nurturing the careers of today's celebrated media personalities. And KTN's Kiswahili Anchor Mashirima Kapombe is one of them.
In a glowing post on her instagram page, the teary Kapombe thanked Ageyo for believing in her and giving her opportunity to prove herself.
" Bitter sweet moment... happy for him. But sad that he won't be a few steps away from my desk anymore. Joe Ageyo, words fail me. The "kiwaru" in my throat...balancing tears... Thank you for believing in me. God bless you in your next assignment," she posted.
Ageyo who is an expert in matters environment is credited for his role in spearheading the recognition of Environmental Journalism as an important media field and he has won many international accolades.
He has previously worked for NTV and the national broadcaster, Kenya Broadcasting Cooperation.
