[Photo|Governor Nyong'o CU]Kisumu County Government through the City Manager organised Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at City Hall on Friday.The ceremony led to the lighting of the Christmas Tree by the Deputy Governor Dr. Ochieng Owili at Central Square. The ceremony attracted hundreds of Kisumu residents who were privileged to receive entertainment from different artists, cash prizes, donations such as blankets and food staffs courtesy of Governor Prof. Anyang' Nyong'o. The traditional act of lighting the Governor's Christmas Tree signifies the faith in humanity and love for each other."We laud all those who have gone out of their way to ensure that we bring our less fortunate brothers to also partake at the Lords cheer as this is what Christmas is," said Owili."As we break for the holidays we pray for restraint in our celebrations. Let's toast to the Lord who is about to be born amongst us," he added.Also present were Tourism CeC Achie Alai; Physical Planning CeC; Nerry Achar, Education and ICT CeC John Ogone and a host of County officials.
