Kisumu County broke into celebrations moments after opposition leader Raila Odinga took the oath of office as the people's president of the Republic of Kenya on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.The oath was administered to Odinga by Ruaraka Member of Parliament Otieno Kajwang at Uhuru Park grounds in Nairobi. His co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula were however not present during the swearing-in ceremony.Kisumu residents took to the streets singing and dancing to express their happiness. A section of the youth from the county had on Monday stormed Governor Anyang’ Nyongo's office demanding to be facilitated to attend the inauguration ceremony in Nairobi.Kisumu County is perceived to be one of the strongholds of the former Prime Minister.
