The motion which was slotted in the Wednesday order paper will rekindle rivalry between the camps which are for and against Jossy who has been hospitalised following a scuffle at the assembly last week.

Majority Leader Samuel Ong'ow who was reading the house business calendar showing various businesses the assembly would be taking, mentioned that the motion would be moved by one member of the minority parties.

This is yet a second attempt to stop Omino from chairing the house sessions by stripping her off her title.

Delinking the issue from the drama witnessed on Tuesday where Jossy was injured as she tried to force her way into the assembly to chair the session, People Democratic Party’s (PDP) Bob Ndolo said the motion is driven purely on the Deputy Speaker's behaviour when she broke into the Speaker's office.

“This motion will be purely on the Deputy Speaker's gross misconduct when she broke into the Speaker’s office using a bolt cutter,” said Ndolo.

He argued that the office should remain closed until the case against the embattled speaker Anne Adul is concluded.

PDP and Federal Party of Kenya (FPK) will meet on Monday in a bid to decide who among them will move the motion on behalf of the minority.

He added that the deputy speaker displayed a behaviour that should not be associated to any public officer as it is against Constitution’s Chapter Six on integrity of leaders.

North West Kisumu Ward Representative Caroline Owen of FPK however said she will abstain from any vote to remove her since she was personally responsible with consolidated support from West Kisumu for Omino's election in the position of the deputy speaker.

She expressed her disappointment though, on Omino's failure to uphold dignity hence the diminishing confidence in her leadership.

"I have lost any authority to stop the motion and it remains her sole responsibility to defend herself and salvage members' trust. Not even her party leader can do it on her behalf," said Owen.

Omino was injured and rushed to Avenue Hospital after a scuffle at the assembly last week when she attempted to chair the sessions but faced rebellion by a majority of members.
