Onguto on Tuesday declined to declare the kitty unconstitutional after three people; Wanjiru Gikonyo, Edwin Kiama and Paul Masese moved to court to challenge existing regulations on Affirmative Action Social Development Fund.

Chae, who is on an official trip in Beijing with PAC said the kitty will enable women representatives execute social responsibility without many hindrances.

“I want to thank God for that timely ruling by the judge. It has been a long journey but finally justice has been done by the court,” she told the reporter on phone.

“We will be able to promote social-economic activities such as women table banking, anti-FGM campaigns, fight against jiggers and drug abuse among youths without much hindrances like in the past where we struggle by using the little salary we earn,” she said.

She said the kitty will be managed prudently and warned existing boards against mismanagement saying she will not hesitate to take stern actions.

“These are public funds and they must be used prudently to sustain fundamental projects. We already have existing boards and they must ensure integrity guides them. Otherwise I will not condone any mismanagement from within,” she said.

The Sh2.03Bn  will be disbursed to all counties based on the population, poverty index and size.
